As part of its ongoing commitment to support community healthcare, Sarawak Energy, in collaboration with Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri-Isteri (SABATI), contributed a haemodialysis machine to Lundu Hospital on 17 December 2025 to help meet the growing needs for dialysis treatment.
The contribution is part of Sarawak Energy’s ongoing collaboration with SABATI under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, specifically through the Community Investment focus area of Community Development and Entrepreneurship, which aims to enhance access to essential medical equipment in public healthcare facilities across Sarawak.
“With the growing number of patients requiring haemodialysis treatment, access to reliable medical equipment is increasingly important. Through our collaboration with SABATI, this contribution supports hospitals in providing continued care to patients, while reflecting Sarawak Energy’s ongoing efforts to support healthcare services across the state,” said Hajah Siti Aisah Adenan, Sarawak Energy’s Senior Vice President for Corporate Services.
The haemodialysis machine was handed over by Siti Aisah to Lundu Hospital Director, Dr Chin Shi How. Also present at the handover ceremony were The Honourable Azizul Annuar Pehin Sri Adenan, Tanjong Datu State Assemblyman; Dayang Norjihan Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, daughter to the Premier of Sarawak and Datin Hajah Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin, Honorary Treasurer of SABATI and Mohamad Irwan Aman, Sarawak Energy’s General Manager for Sustainability. Following the ceremony, the guests visited the dialysis ward and distributed goodie bags, bringing festive cheer to the patients.
Sarawak Energy and SABATI began their healthcare collaboration in June 2020 with the donation of haemodialysis machines to Kapit and Lawas Hospitals. Since then, the company has supported medical facilities statewide through contributions including ECG machines, dialysis machines, ambulances and fundoscopy equipment, as well as funding cataract surgeries in Kapit, Mukah-Balingian, Sungai Asap Belaga, Murum and Sri Aman. Four additional hospitals, Miri, Bintulu, Mukah and Sarikei, are scheduled to receive machines in 2026.
Sarawak Energy’s corporate social responsibility efforts are guided by four Community Investment focus areas: Education and Young People, Environmental Management and Conservation, Culture and Heritage, and Community Development and Entrepreneurship, reflecting its commitment to delivering sustainable benefits to the communities it serves.
