KUCHING, 18TH JUNE 2016, SATURDAY: Sarawak Energy staff and management came together for the annual Gawai Dayak celebration, organised by the company’s Sports Club for a fun-filled Bidayuh themed night that saw 300 staff and family members enjoy traditional dances and food. In his speech, Datuk Rundi said he was happy to note the high level of corporate inclusiveness practiced at Sarawak Energy given its diverse workforce, with celebrations such as Gawai Dayak, and highlighted achievements in electricity supply delivered by Sarawak Energy together with the Ministry.

In his speech, Torstein said the culturally unique thanksgiving celebration was a wonderful way of celebrating the hard work put in over the course of the year.

Torstein said the company’s diverse multi-cultural workforce included around 35 per cent who were of Dayak origin and celebrated the festival.

“Since last year’s Gawai Celebration, many milestones have been achieved which includes the signing of a new power purchase agreement, gas sales agreement, began supplying electricity beyond our borders as well as building our international credentials. We have achieved this together as a team,” he said.
