“It does not matter how good our facilities and physical assets are, if we do not have capable, competent people with integrity to manage and operate them, we will not be successful. We must also ensure there is a strong talent development and management framework in place so that everyone can reach their full potential in this organisation. We want to benchmark ourselves against the best in class operators and strive towards being in the same group as these companies,” he added.

Prior to that, Aisah Eden, Sarawak Energy Executive Vice President of Corporate Services, in her welcome remarks said loyalty should not be confined to just staying with the company for the long term.

“For the company’s business to be sustainable, the employee has to contribute positively. It should go beyond 'I am just working here'. We should raise our brand to a higher level, safe guard our business property, our people and our customers. This does not only mean working hard, working smart but also working safe. It demands us to observe every standard, rule and regulation pertaining to the running of Sarawak Energy’s business,” she added.
