Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) OSH Gold Class I Award
Baleh Hydroelectric Project (HEP) has been awarded the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) OSH Gold Class I Award at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Kuala Lumpur.
The award ceremony was organised by MSOSH. This recognition reflects Baleh HEP's commitment to occupational safety and health (OSH) and acknowledges the project's excellent OSH performance throughout 2024.
This achievement is the result of the collective effort, discipline and dedication demonstrated by the Baleh HEP project team, contractors and subcontractors in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace in accordance with Sarawak Energy's HSSE requirements and all applicable regulatory requirements.
RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2025
Sarawak Energy received the RoSPA Gold Award after the RoSPA Awards Adjudication Panel confirmed on 13 May 2025 that SEB Power Sdn Bhd - Baleh HEP had been recognised for its outstanding health and safety performance during the period from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are internationally recognised as one of the highest accolades for excellence in occupational safety and health. The awards recognise organisations, teams and projects across all sectors that demonstrate a commitment to protecting lives and promoting a strong safety culture. Receiving a RoSPA Award reflects exemplary performance and reflects an organisation's commitment to high safety standards, employee well-being and continuous improvement.
This achievement reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of the Sarawak Energy team, contractors, regulatory authorities and all stakeholders involved in the Baleh HEP. It also reaffirms Sarawak Energy's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of occupational safety and health through proactive initiatives, continuous improvement and collective responsibility.
Environmental Award and Recognition
Sarawak Energy is committed to ensuring that the Baleh HEP is delivered in full compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements. This commitment is supported through continuous environmental monitoring, periodic audits and verifications, structured feedback mechanisms, and rigorous compliance practices that uphold a strong culture of environmental stewardship and accountability throughout project delivery.
To advance environmental excellence, Sarawak Energy actively encourages participation in both internal and external environmental award programmes. These initiatives support benchmarking, continuous improvement and the recognition of best environmental practices. Outstanding environmental performance is recognised through the Contractor Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Compliance Award (CECA) and the Premier of Sarawak Environmental Award (PSEA). These awards recognise excellence in environmental management, compliance with EIA conditions, and the effective implementation of environmental mitigation measures.
Gold Award Achievements: GE and Sinohydro Corporation (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. received the Gold Award at the PSEA in 2024 and the CECA in 2025, recognising their exemplary environmental performance during the delivery of the Baleh HEP’s main electrical and mechanical works.

- Silver Award Achievement: Hock Seng Lee Berhad (HSL) received the Silver Award in the Contractor Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Compliance Award (CECA) 2025 for its environmental compliance in the construction and completion of the Operator Residence.
