NOTICE

Following the recent competency requirement updates by the Electrical Inspectorate Unit (EIU), the competency requirements for Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) systems have been revised as follows:

1. PV Designer

The PV designer shall possess one of the following certifications:

• EIU Certified GCPV Designer, or
• EIU Authorised GCPV Designer
  
  

2. PV Installer

The PV system installer shall possess one of the following certifications:

• EIU Certified Chargeman L4 (General), or
• EIU Certified Chargeman L4 (Grid-Connected), or
• EIU Certified Chargeman L4 (Off-Grid) with Chargeman L1
  
  

3. Drawing Endorsement Personnel

a) AC Circuit

Endorsement for the AC circuit shall be carried out by either one of the personnel with the following certifications, depending on system capacity:

• EIU Certified Authorised to Test (ATT) for systems up to 60A, or
• EIU Certified Electrical Supervisor (LV Installations & Equipment/Substation) for systems up to 100A, or
• EIU Certified Competent Electrical Engineer (CEE - LV Installations & Equipment/HV Substation), or
• BEM Certified Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC)
  

b) DC Circuit

Endorsement for the DC circuit shall be carried out by either one of the personnel with the following certifications:

• EIU Certified GCPV Designer, or
• EIU Authorised GCPV Designer

4. Testing and Commissioning (T&C) Endorsement

• T&C shall be performed only by an EIU Certified GCPV Designer.
